JOLT

JOLT stands for Journey of a Lifetime. Ascension offers this ministry to our 6^th – 8^th grade students as a time for learning, community building, games, worship, small group and large group activities, service projects. In other Lutheran churches you might hear this type of program referred to as Confirmation. JOLT is our confirmation program; we just don’t call it confirmation. In October of their freshman year, students who move through the JOLT program are invited to make a public profession of their faith and celebrate their Affirmation of Baptism with prayers, laying on of hands, and a faith statement created in partnership with the pastors. Every June, our JOLT students are invited to attend Adventure Camp where we rock climb, kayak, zip-line, and learn to take a leap of faith along the way.
